When do the vaporetti run? Operating times, frequency of the most important lines, night service and seasonal differences.

The vaporetti run from around 5:00 am until midnight. After that, the night line N takes over until around 5:00 am. The frequency varies depending on the line, time of day and season - on the main lines there is a boat every 10-15 minutes during the day.

ACTV does not publish fixed timetables with exact departure times online. The actual times depend on the weather, water level and passenger numbers. For real-time departure times, use the official ACTV app „AVM Venezia“ or the displays at the stops.

Night service (Line N)

After midnight, the night line N takes over operations. It operates three routes through the city center, to Murano and to the northern lagoon. The boats depart approximately every 30-60 minutes between 11:30 pm and 5:00 am. The night line is included in the Vaporetto day and multi-day ticket.

Tip: Before the evening program, check the time of the last regular departure of your line. The night line N only runs on selected routes - if your destination is not on the N route, you must return beforehand or take a water cab.

Special timetables for events

During major events in Venice, there are adjusted timetables with additional boats and extended operating times. The most important events are the Carnival (February/March), the Biennale (May-November, every two years), the Redentore Festival (third weekend in July) and the Lido Film Festival (August/September). Up-to-date special timetables are published via the ACTV app „AVM Venezia“ and at the bus stops.
